I found that, but it's April, and on the game page it's October, so I thought maybe there is another one.

Wow, I loved this game soo much!

The gameplay is so on spot, it already feels very balanced and engaging, and also there is so much room to put new stuff.

Great job!

Nice take on the theme. I even tried to search if it's really based on some historic event, but didn't found one :(

A few more exits to prevent camping near door are definitely needed. And a little bit more smart AI for prisoners.

Liked the reversed concept.

Very skill-dependable game. Unusual player view and feel of the controls - I liked it.

Didn't feel the theme very much: what are we escaping from? But definitely moving forward :)

Great, that you have a working leaderboard!
Sad it has got so little reviews.

Beats are soo cool in this game!
And there is 4 games in one and even character creation better than in Skyrim, wow!

Really funny. I'd love to escape to the NBA, but my basketball skills are too low

Nice game.
The idea doesn't feel so fresh, but I loved the execution despite kinda default graphics (except the intro and finish, which are masterpiece :))
The choice of assets is humorous. The escape theme is kinda present, but I think you still have cheated with it a little, though in a funny way.

I love how you introduced the bouncing skip in the first level, and when just ripped it off the player and make them actually go and solve challenges: really thoughtful level-design.

I also don't think it's too hard (it's the genre), but maybe don't put a hard score to beat to see an ending (idk if that's present, I've got around 200 on the first run)

I liked the ship, though it's not clear initially that it is a timer (I tried to jump on icon and died lol).
Would be sad to remove it completely

A very touching game with beautiful visuals and sound.

I'm not sure how to rate it without the highscore and leaderboard stuff, but I enjoyed a playthrough very much.

I love how it is a maze puzzle AND an escape game :)

Very nice to see a puzzle leaderboard game which is also playable and enjoyable! It's already very solid, just need a little more polish. And also has a huge potential to explore other ideas (e.g. already mentioned multiplayer).

Running through all the tiles for the points feel a little tedious, but I don't have a quick solution out of my head and yours give a feel of fair competition.

Good work!

Cool game! Loved shooting stuff with my blaster :)

A few thoughts on how to improve it: I have escaped without doing a single jump - it was easier to just stand on initial platform and shoot incoming asteroids with rapid fire (they got 4 stones out ot 5, but defend one is even easier). It would be cool to be able to move vertically and reach the ship by yourself, not just waiting for it. I think it would add more choice between staying and trying to get more score and moving to escape (this choice is present in https://itch.io/jam/scorejam29/rate/2661422, but it lacks the right amount of danger).

The stats screen and abilities are very nice additions!

Really clever idea of controlling a few characters simultaneously and very satisfying matching visuals with old TVs.

I think it just needs a little bit of balancing around number of characters and how keeping them alive affects score. And fixing some bugs and collisions: my guys kept squeezing through obstacles when I just pressed forward, and carts stopped moving after score around 12000.
It is a solid jam entry and can be very unique game!

I liked the level design very much: how from simple and maybe a little sluggish controls you squeezed every opportunity to get player to try every combination of jump and crouch at some places. And I even didn't get stuck once!

Visuals are top too!

That's really impressive! I should definitely look into using more ready assets in the next jams, if that allows to get such results.

Loved driving feel, also I love the Baby Driver movie and I think the theme is kinda applicable here (though at least some effects that make a feeling of being chased would help). So sad that you've got your music bugged, it rocks!

Yeah, I think we made it a little too hard, I want to tweak balance a bit. But maybe proper introducing of the mechanics would help.

Currently, we have an Escape ability, which charges with every 2 stars and allow 2 seconds of invincibility (doesn't save from hands tho).
We also thought to give some fast typing QTE to survive hands if they got you, but didn't have time to do it.

With sounds we definitely need to make changes smoother and add a few.

Thank you for playing and for your feedback!

Loved it!

Discovered a bug when time was ending I tried to finish craft and my exit screen was covered by inventory and controls didn't work. But overall very cool idea and implementation: 5 stars!

Got score of 15.

Simple puzzle platformer.

I think this is intentional, but I didn't quite understand why levels are going in random order and sometimes repeat. I didn't really felt the time pressure and also getting the white circle isn't required to pass a level and only gives 100 points. But with the right balance this idea can be really explored deeper :)

I loved the spiderman feeling of flying over the city! Really cool that you can go over the buildings and find shortcuts.

I needed more time to read the intro and to memorize the map: on the first run I didn't understand there to go and had to restart the game completely.

Funny take on a theme. Reminded me a little of postal or goat simulator
I think this needs a little more content (ways to get score) and it can be quite funny and enjoyable.

Also wasn't sure why getting hit by car improves your citizen score lol. I thought using crosswalk would improve and just running over - decrease.

The download method looks very sketchy. Tried to play using virtual machine: seems like a legit game with a huge 3d level, but I think my VM doesn't have enough graphics capabilities to run it smoothly.

Don't know how to rate this entry, because the team seems to made other legit games and have put a lot of work into this one, but why distribute it with some 3d-party site?

Hehe, that's a funny one! I had a blast after understanding the mechanics.

I loved the theme choice and overall aesthetics and sounds. It's all put well together.
For the gameplay I'd love to have a way to set path for the chickens permanently. I think there will be still lots of chaos and tension from traps spawning here and there and you will constantly need to adapt the paths.

Nice game!
The gameplay and overall aesthetics feel solid, and you even implemented different controls and pathfinding.

To my taste dying has too little consequences and sometime is even beneficial to quickly reset to better position after grabbing points, but that makes this more relaxing after other escape-heavy games :)

Intriguing idea, loved the 3D top view and feel of the character. Level is also interesting to explore a few times.

I think scoring is broken at the moment: the cost of artifacts doesn't count, but the gold saves between runs, so player can just rerun a few times and pick up the same gold pile from the ground.

Unlocked shield and sword and opened the crypt; don't know if there is anything to do with horn, mead, diary and mushrooms.

I liked the style soo much! How art and sounds combines together here is incredible. And the whole idea and atmosphere are fun.

The game loop looks promising, but currently I didn't feel enough motivation to move around the level. The first two can be easily done by standing and punching incoming monsters. And the boss fight might require some jumping, but I didn't find a way to get to those hands myself and still ended up waiting for them to come to me.

I liked landing hard shots on the birds. I think it's really smart to not give the full WASD movement, and only allow going in the direction you see, so player should always choose between shooting for points or moving away from danger.

Cudos for adding different input types, though that might have distracted you from more testing and improving core mechanics.

I think if you polish it up and add some more dangers to make the escape feel better, that can be a funny nice game.

Ooh, now I see the circle. That's very cool: I like that it shows the attribute but you can only guess if it's positive or negative effect (and the text kinda make hints about that)

The idea is smart and the presentation is top-notch!

From seeing the first screen and "tweaking code" to set my name and settings I've got my expectations a bit too high and wanted to do something with that part of screen during the actual puzzles.  Want more puzzles that require changing rules to solve!

Little touches: screen between puzzles can be a bit longer to see what's written in the popup, the end of run should also be clearer, I ended up starting new and realized it only after solving a few again.

I am personally not a fan of speedrun-leaderboard, but this one is very cleverly done!

The art and sounds in this game are one of the funniest and coolest in the whole jam (from what I've seen)

I'd love to play a version with a little bit more polish: clearer signalling of how the choice affected parameters, how does scoring work, nicer font for the texts, etc.

Also, I believe there is a "highest score" run, so there can't be much competition in the leaderboard in the long run, but it's very interesting to unfold all of the choices in the story.

Score is 1260!

I don't know which engine you have used, but it feels (from the amount of files, and that it required me to install .NET Runtime) that you might have picked something too complicated for current level of gameplay.

It would really benefit to have a build for web and maybe using tools which would allow you to put more juice into the game with the restricted time you had.

Sounds are nice, gave some Celtic feel idk.
I didn't really felt the escape theme, but that's personal.

My elfs couldn't die, and when there is no place for tower I'm locked, so no leaderboard place sadly :((

Thanks for the compliments!

That's our first game at all, and only one of us know programming, so we decided on GDevelop to keep it simpler in terms of code.

I still ended up learning some JavaScript on the way though lol :)

Good luck with debugging if you'd continue!
Also, some in-game hints about towers and units abilities would help very much. I know they are accessible from the menu, but it's hard to remember them all during playthrough.

I love the twist on tower-defence and choosing your units and enemy at the same time.
I think the game is currently bugged and always shows the same 3 cards for the whole run. Also, I'm not sure if such leaderboard order is intentional or not.

To my taste, the fast-forward should be faster, although it's cool that you implemented it at all!

I'd love to see the fixed version there player can actually strategize around different unit types compositions. And also with proper visuals and sound. It seems you've really put a lot of work into mechanics and content!

P.S. spam elfs for the win :))

That added another level of enjoyment :)

I'd like to see the game ending tho sometime XDD

Thank you for the kind words!

Checked your game out too, it is really nice and clever.

Thanks! Killing the habit is one of the most important things we tried to achieve :)

Thanks for the feedback! Hope you enjoyed the game a bit.

There is thunder sound and lightning animation when controls are changing, but there is no explanation, that's true. We definitely should improve signalling of controls change, I have a few ideas how to do it.

Maybe will implement after jam.

Yeah, we didn't have time to make any kind of tutorial or introduce the mechanics in a clearer way.

Tried to explain everything in a description.

But I think it's part of the fun to try to understand how systems work on first 1-3 playthroughs and one run is short enough to start over quickly. Than you catch the grasp of it, it's really skill dependant to get to the higher score.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Wow, this is cool! I like top-down 3d view very much. Feels fresh and smooth. Loved the tutorial and different skins on characters. The menu could be better, looking at overall quality everywhere.

This game should definitely have more players than dev and me.

The only thing I'd change is timer: it's simpler to see time left before end, and not do calculations in your head.

And I think it would really benefit from web-version to get more players

22nd place is good enough for me. Seems very hard to beat the devs :))

Very much liked the theme and music and overall feel. File names are soo funny!

Would love to see more random generated worlds, but it can be very hard to balance and with such long game sessions getting stuck somewhere can be really frustrating

I raged a lot during the game XDD

It hurts to not get into leaderboard without actually beating the game, but that makes it more addictive for sure.

I am not a fan of speed-run style submissions in general, but this one is very well polished, and has interesting controls (which we also tried to pursue in our game).

Quack!

P.S. 40 seconds run video is really impressive!
